Last year I went to my first tech conferences, which were Data Point Prague, FabCon Europe, and Iowa Code Camp. The primary things I took away from each conference included:

  • Regardless of tooling, keep efficiency and load at the forefront of planning

  • It's ok if your career trajectory looks like a roller coaster

  • AI is still weird, and getting weirder

  • Start a blog

None of those are really action items except the last one. So, I'm starting a blog. Finally. Here are topics you might find here:

  • Python

  • R

  • SQL

  • Power BI

  • Tableau

  • Automation

  • Process improvement

  • Documentation

This isn't necessarily for super technical people. When I was getting into tech, I was most frustrated by the fact that so much of the documentation and other resources available assumed a level of understanding that I simply didn't have, and it made getting into tech incredibly frustrating and disheartening, and it threatened the physical safety of my laptop and my mental health many, many times.

This is for the beginners and for the people who have been around a while who want a reminder of what it's like, truly, to start from the beginning.
